Elsecar Heritage Centre is a unique visitor outlet set in the attractive conservation village of Elsecar, located within the former ironworks and colliery workshops of the Earls Fitzwilliam, with nearby park, canal-side walks and access to the Trans Pennine Trail. You can visit an interesting variety of craft shops, antiques centre, children's indoor play centre, artists' studios, and steam railway.
The Centre is home to the only Newcomen type engine worldwide to remain in its original location. The Heritage Lottery Fund has awarded the engine a grant of £425,000 for a full restoration. For more details click here.

Opening Times
The site is open 7 days a week. Free admission to site and free parking. Admission charges apply to some events and activities.
Craft shops and businesses operate varying opening days. Antiques Centre and Children's Play Centre open 7 days a week. Railway operates a regular Sunday passenger service.
